Créer des relations, tisser de nouveaux liens sont des choses simples rendues de plus en plus difficiles par nos rythmes de vies et nos « filtres » sociaux. J’ai eu l’idée d’utiliser la photographie pour faire passer un message : allons vers les autres, n’ayons pas peur de nous parler. Je vais à la rencontre d’inconnus, brisant ainsi une barrière. The Infinite Human Project donne l’occasion aux participants de parler d’eux en montrant leur visage et leur offre une tribune pour faire passer un message, à leur tour.

1. Je rencontre quelqu’un.

2. Je lui confie le portrait Polaroid du dernier participant. Je lui transmets le message qu’il m’a confié.
   

3. Je photographie ma nouvelle connaissance alors qu’elle tient la photo face à l’objectif.
   

4. Nous discutons et faisons connaissance. Je reçois le message à transmettre à la prochaine personne.
   

5. La nouvelle photo est prête ! Je peux rencontrer quelqu’un d’autre et continuer la chaîne…

Ainsi, grâce à The Infinite Human Project, des personnes qui ne se connaissent pas se retrouvent pour former une chaîne infinie : chacun est lié au portrait du précédent participant et au portrait suivant. Ce projet est aussi une réflexion sur les interactions entre les individus dans l’espace public.

Our new ways of life make it more and more difficult to meet new people. While we walk through dozens of unknown persons every day, we are afraid to talk to strangers, even though it may be very enriching. I want to use photography as a way to say : let’s be open and create new links. I walk in the streets and go talk to strangers, breaking an unsaid rule. The Infinite Human Project give participants a chance to tell the world about themselves by showing their face and are offer an opportunity to deliver their message.

1. I meet someone I don’t know.

2. I hand him or her the Polaroid portrait of the last participant. I deliver the message I’ve been given.
   

3. I take a picture of the new participant while he or she is showing the portrait to my Polaroid camera.

4. We chat, we get oursvelves to know each other a little bit so I can write the Interview. I am given the message I will transmit to the next participant.

5. The new picture is ready ! I can walk, meet someone new and continue the chain…

Through The Infinite Human Project, men and women who don’t know each other come together to form an infinite chain of people : every participant is linked to the last and next person portrait ! This project is also a reflection about interpersonal interactions in public areas.
